Bythology
Bythology is a system which allows the exploration of the concepts of time, memory, money and technology as they relate to the anthropological aspects of human history. It offers a way of recognising it as intrinsically linked to ancient history and the dawn of civilisation as well as a vision of the future, as what it presents is both a disruption and a continuation of the way in which we as humans deal with these very abstract concepts.
Sono tranquillo, altrettanto siatelo voi.
This work aims to be a historical investigation and re-presentation, based on a real event connected to my family’s biography. The central element of the project is the figure of Ezio Setti, my mother Anna Maria Setti’s uncle. Persecuted for his partisan activity, Ezio was seized in his home by Fascist soldiers on March 11, […]
Missing, Vermisst, Scomparso
This work is intended as an analysis and a representation of the psychosocial aspects raised by the phenomenon of missing people in contemporary cities. The question guiding my project entails the nature of the missing subject, the dynamics enacted by his disappearance and the elements inhabiting the space of the newly created absence.
The concept of “missing” will be represented as an attempt to draw the boundaries of an inexplicable void and to gauge the tension tightening the borderlines of the unmapped territory covered by the relationship connecting – and simultaneously separating – the missing person and the community. Spannung as tension, Spannung as suspance, Spannung as a wasteland marked only by the signs of an ongoing research and an increasing sense of incertitude.
The project consists in enacting a disappearance and in collecting all the material concerning both the active search (posters, flyers) and the reactions to the search (phone calls, emails). The gathering of the materials will take place in an installation aimed at illuminating the tension between a missing subject and all those who try to bridge the immeasurable distance of the absence.
Timecapsule
The overarching theme of ‘Timecapsule’ explores the archaeology of the future and emphasizes the idea that concealing something can be an act of resilience in the face of the intimate existence of individuals. This series of works delves into the intricacies of memory, the act of forgetting, and the resilience inherent in preserving moments through hidden capsules, creating a tangible bridge between the echoes of the past and the mysteries of the future.
None
None is a photography project that explores both the practice of portraiture and the essence of photography itself. Initiated in 2007, the project involves collecting images from various sources, including the internet, film frames, family albums, photographs captured from the television, and religious cards. Each of these images holds a unique connection to me, considered from both a physiognomic and intellectual standpoint.
Backscape
Backscape is a name derived from the combination of two English words, ‘back’ (behind) and ‘scape’ (from ‘landscape’ – ‘land’ territory, ‘scape’ view). Nine images of a landscape, diverse yet similar in the characterization of the location, are brought into relation at the same moment. The application randomly selects a strip of pixels from one of the nine images and positions it on the stage at the same horizontal position. This method of landscape genesis randomly visualizes the succession of possible solutions that it can assume over time by adding different images, creating both its continuity and showing its discontinuity.a reflection of reality that simultaneously reveals and conceals its presence. This showing and hiding is what remains in our visual and perceptual memory of the landscape.
Relatiografia
With my performance piece Relatiografia, I delve into the intimate nature of interpersonal relationships, focusing on the graphic act of the pencil on paper, dismissing concerns about its formal value. I invite participants to share a single pencil on a sheet, eyes closed. By isolating tactile dynamics from verbal or facial interferences, I underscore how […]
Doppiamano
In the unique dance of two left hands, one real and one artificial, the authentic immerses itself in an imitation of the artificial. In this unconventional encounter, an osmotic exchange unfolds between the natural and the artificial. Contrary to convention, it is the real hand that appears to mirror the artificial. This prompts a profound […]
Alone
This project wants to pay attention to those public spaces where people meet, socialize and work. The places such as museum and galleries are mainly open to the public during the day. Hence, this project wants to answer this question: What happen inside these places when they are closed to the public? What do they […]
